Week 8

Students working out for power point presentations in groups.
This week was very much busy for me. I learned many interesting things and went through many useful sites. How to teach online was something difficult for me but the sites like: http://www.easytestmaker.com  http://poster.4teachers.org  http://bogglesworldesl.com/  http://www.toolsforeducators.com/  http://hotpot.uvic.ca/ helped me a lot. I found them useful for teachers. Writing report, this week kept me very much busy. I have worked hard on my report and waiting for comments from my course partner Ricardo. I have read his report and learned many things from him which will help me in my final draft of the project. Online video discussion was something new for me. I was keen interested to take part but due to electricity problem here in Nepal I could not. I went through  it afterwards and found my classmates are  working very hard. Their discussion with Jeff Magoto was wonderful on webinar on ANVILL. We can find it here:

Students busy in their group works
I created pddlet wall for my class here they can share their links, images, videos according to the topic being taught in the class room. Every one in the class can go through this link. Students would be independent in their searches and would feel free to write something or draw something and put on the wall to share with other classmates. For this I motivated my students on making short power point presentations in the class and presenting it in small groups, then they had to share it on the wall.

As a whole it was a busy week for me..

  1. thanks Aparna for you earlier evaluation, but I was a little in a rush because I`m starting my school year these week. You know, your project it very good design because it delas with the specific problems and what are the solutions for each for each of them but I think we have a different template for the project so ,in way, I thought it was because you are working in your school now and I was in holidays. Nevermind I admire your work and think it will be a success and at the ened we will share positive things of each. it`s been a pleasure to work with you and I hope it won`t be the last one.

  5. Dear Aparna,

Aren’t these photographs about your students? They seem to be very engaging in the class and have fun in learning English. How wonderful this is!

Like you, I have been very busy throughout the week in drafting my project, reading my partner’s project, giving feedback on my partner project. It is true that I have been familiar with some amazing teacher resources and tools that you have listed in your posting. Among these, ANVILL is superb. It could be a great resource in a language course and particularly helpful for developing learners’ pronunciation and speaking skills. Like you, I was also unfortunate as I missed webinar on ANVILL. I have tried to download it but my internet connection was not support. I hope to download it soon. I also like to discover various tools of ANVILL and want to implement it as soon as possible.

    Regards,
    Nahid

  6. Hi Aparna: were you able to view the video about the online weather are. I hope so. I'm sorry that you were not able to join us, and I know many people have problems joining around the world. That is fine we do not require joining, because it would be too difficult for me.
