Hi Aparna. Good start, now I hope you can add a weekly reflection about what you are learning. Also be sure to turn off "Word Verification" (step 6 on the handout.
Hi Aparna. I agree with your statement in your blog about the advantages of having online connection and PC in classrooms. In my country Austria, schools for children are very well equipped with web technology but adult education centres are not. The posh centres, who get money from the chamber of commerce, are lucky to have to latest technology in class. I do teach adults in an adult education centre sponsored by the chamber of labour, and I do not have internet in class. So it is quite challenging to make learners use their pc for homework, extra activies, a.s.o. Sometimes I prepare instructions with screenshots and explain the functions in class, when the learners want to fiddle about at home, sometimes it looks completely different on theis pc, then they get nervous and sometimes give up. Young learners don't give up that easily. They like playing with and exploring technology especially computers. But what they all have in common, the young and the young at heart, that they like searching for information, reading articles and online newspapers, listen to podcasts, this neverending source of teaching material in any language is just overwhelming. I don't want to miss it. Brigitte
